Dear Parents and Students,
As principal of Tuskegee Public School, it is my pleasure to welcome you to TPS. We are all excited to have you in our classrooms and hallways filling them with enthusiasm and energy for learning. It is our mission to have every child and parent feel welcomed, connectED and a part of the BEST family. We also challenge each student in his or her academic abilities to be college and career ready. I feel extremely fortunate to be the principal of a school with such a motivated faculty and staff who work diligently to create an environment that creates student learning through a wide variety of innovative and collaborative methods of activities. This year’s theme, THIS IS HOW WE DO IT, speaks to providing the most rewarding education possible and making the process of learning an enjoyable experience. Our students’ education is our top priority!
At Tuskegee Public School, we have great teachers who spend hours planning and creating classroom activities to have our students engaged in learning. We believe that utilizing research based best practices, analyzing academic data to determine current skill levels and setting goals for growth and improvement all assist in preparing our students for the next level.
The Macon County School District is moving forward with the Alabama academic standards, school wide incentive programs and the Apple CommunityEd initiative. Additionally, the ETECC (Every Teacher, Every Child Connected) program has had a tremendous impact on our students and the greater community as it allows our students to be more competitive as we transform how technology is used in the classroom providing us with a 1:1 initiative. We have a 21st Century After School Program that all students are invited to attend that provides homework assistance, core subject remediation and STEM and sports enrichment activities. Parents and students can, also, participate in monthly Saturday Academy sessions that focus on an array of STEM based sessions.

Our journey continues by holding firm to our faculty mantra-One School, One Vision which supports our new superintendent’s motto, We Are One. As we begin this new year, remember, we make our school community the caring place it is!
